Post-Show Message from Show Producer, Bar Hodgson

January 20, 2010

Even though the ongoing economic situation has been difficult for all businesses, including the Canadian Motorcycle Industry, we are pleased to report that with the combined hard work and dedication of the staff of Bar Hodgson Productions and Richard Kehoe Productions, SUPERSHOW's exhibitors and the many volunteers who work tirelessly behind the scenes that this year's SUPERSHOW was one of the best of the last five years. At a time when our competition has had to downsize their show, the SUPERSHOW has been able to maintain its size and content.

SUPERSHOW has been able to replace any lost business with new commercial exhibitors and its over 80 exhibiting clubs, associations and rides remain vibrant and energetic. There were an increased number of features and racing celebrities, as well as custom bikes registered in the Canada Cup showbike competition. Major exhibitors did well - such as the Harley-Davidson dealer booth that was ecstatic with the volume of knowledgeable Harley-Davidson buyers visiting their booth.

All of this positive activity delivered one of the largest exhibitor bases and attending audiences for many years. SUPERSHOW 2010 had over 400 exhibitors, roughly 55,000 attendees, and our web-site, having 4,529,363 hits during the month of January, set an all new record by far!

Of course none of this would be possible without the SUPERSHOW's loyal exhibitor base. These exhibitors reported generally excellent sales with many of them setting new all-time records. Obviously the excellent sales enjoyed by these exhibitors means that our attending motorcycle audience was happy to take advantage of the special show prices among the vast selection of merchandise offered by these exhibitors at SUPERSHOW 2010.

Last but not least, the SUPERSHOW is particularly fortunate to be hosted by the International Centre, Toronto's top show venue. The International Centre is accessible from all area major highways, is able to offer free parking and provides the SUPERSHOW with three top restaurants featuring top quality food & beverage ensuring SUPERSHOW attendees have the best Motorcycle Show experience available.

We hope to see all of you at next year's at SUPERSHOW when our dates roll back to January 7, 8, 9, 2011.

And if you just can't wait that long, then we hope you'll join us for the Toronto International Spring Motorcycle Show, at the International Centre April 10th & 11th for another great motorcycle show!

The North American International Motorcycle SUPERSHOW got some important recognition in the November 2009 issue of Classic Bike Magazine, the largest selling motorcycle magazine on classic bikes in the world. Titled 'The Empire Issue', in a large feature section after covering the best parts suppliers, racers, etc. from all over what used to be called the British Empire, they ended the section with "The Best Events in the Commonwealth". Mentioning events from such commonwealth countries as New Zealand, Australia, South America, and India, they picked the North American International Motorcycle SUPERSHOW, January 15, 16, 17, 2010, in Toronto, Canada as the top commonwealth event to attend from the Americas. SUPERSHOW Producer, Bar Hodgson, considers this one of the greatest compliments bestowed on the SUPERSHOW. The November issue of Classic Bike is on newsstands now.

The SUPERSHOW / Team Arrow racing land speed streamliner has returned from the Bonneville Salt Flats and unfortunately the world record attempt was not a success. According to this year's pilot, Dave Lloyd, they encountered an electronic shifter malfunction and had to abort the run. There was not enough time left in the event to repair the problem and attempt another run so the streamliner will have to wait another year to try again.
