The Canadian Motorcycle Heritage Museum was invited to participate in the 'Richmond Green Fall Classic Bike Show' in Richmond Hill, organized by the Great Pine Ridge Section of the Canadian Vintage Motorcycle Group on September 16th. Held just a week after the September 11 events in the U.S. the Museum decided that a theme of 'A Tribute to America' was appropriate and a great selection of American Bikes was the focus of the display. It was quite well received by the audience. Thanks to all who stopped by to appreciate the bikes.
This perfect example of a 1977 Harley-Davidson XLCR/XR1000 Café Racer is always a show stopper. It was a project bike for Iron Works magazine acquired about 6 years ago from publisher Dennis Stemp.
The Museum's 1920 Indian Board Track Racer is a recent acquisition from Al Fair, and an incredible piece of history. These two enthusiasts took the time to study every part in detail.
Another American legend, this 1947 Indian Chief attracted attention even before the Show opened. The reverse clutch is a bit of a brain teaser along with the left hand throttle and right hand shifter.
These American bikes, and many more, will be part of the next Museum Display at the North American International Motorcycle SUPERSHOW, January 4, 5, 6, 2002. It will be the largest display of the Motorcycle RoadShow Series with over 25 special bikes. We hope you'll drop by and see our Super version of our 'Salute to America'.
