	June 2nd 2001 - The Ride to Remember, Picton Municipal Airport, Prince Edward County, Ontario

Canadian Motorcycle Heritage Museum visits the 2001 Ride to Remember June 2nd, Picton Municipal Airport…. What a great setting for the first annual Ride to Remember. Just outside beautiful Picton, Ontario, in Prince Edward County, at the airport that once served as a world war two army base, the Ride to Remember launches what will become a yearly motorcycle trek for enthusiasts. This year's event remembered famed motorcycle tuner and builder, Rick Andrews, with proceeds going to a local charity - the Grandview Island Children's Camp. The Canadian Motorcycle Heritage Museum was pleased to be invited and take part in the event since it owns a very special 'Rick Andrews built' 1979 Honda 750 /1100. In all we brought out 5 bikes and had 2 more arrive via friends of the Museum. On display were a 1986 Suzuki GSXR Ltd. Edition, a 1974 Kawasaki Z1A, a 1974 Yamaha RD 350, a 1970 Yamaha TA125, a 1967 BMW R69S (owned by Ed Vaillancourt) and a 1958 NSU S20 Supermax Scrambler (owned by Kurt Boeckmann).

7 bikes, including the 'Rick Andrews Special' (foreground) made up the Musuem's feature display at the inaugural Ride to Remember.	The Museum's 1974 Yamaha RD350 took 'Best in Show' in the Vintage Street Class pre-1981in the Hindle Concours D'elegance.
The 1958 NSU S20 Supermax Scrambler was the overall winner, taking Best Bike in Show. Shown here, from left, are Ed Vaillancourt, one of the Museum's Directors, Jack Vaillancourt and Kurt Boeckmann. Here Museum Founder and Chairman, Bar Hodgson, predicts that the success of this year's event will make it an annual destination for riders.
