Peter Derry on the Endurance Kawasaki |
| SUPERSHOW via SUPERSHOW Racing participated in the first round of the National Vintage Road Racing Series at Shannonville Motorsport Park. Staff members Ken Livingstone and Peter Derry registered to compete on two of the fastest bikes in the Series. Ken rode the Team’s 1989 Ducati 851 Superbike in the new Period Four Formula One class while Peter rode as a team member on the Kawasaki KZ1000 Superbike owned by Bob Beal in the prestigious Endurance Race. Peter set the fastest laps of the weekend on the big Kawasaki at 1 minute, 2 second flat, helping the team win the Period Three, Heavyweight class and finishing runner-up by only one lap for the overall win to a much more modern Kawasaki ZX7R. Ken finished third in his class on the Ducati while nursing a recent shoulder injury. | |

With assistance from the crew, Ken tries on his 2 piece street gear. This involved removing the armour from the left shoulder area and slowly putting Ken into the jacket. Next he tried sitting on the bike and decided it was manageable – but just barely. Ken went on to ride his race on Sunday, placing a remarkable third place and collected valuable points for the Series. |

With Ken having separated his shoulder in an unrelated incident, SUPERSHOW rider Peter Derry was loaned to the Army of Lardness Team as a hired gun for the endurance race. After his first practice Peter suggested some changes to the bike and the guys went right to work on it. |
