SUPERSHOW Was There

Charlie Mahoney’s Indian Day
Campbellford, Ont. July 3, 2004

This year’s annual “Charlie’s Indian Day” was a beautiful tribute to a motorcycle legend who passed away this year. It turned out to be a gorgeous sunny day with more riders attending than the event has drawn in the past.

7 motorcycles from the SUPERSHOW Collection were selected that would be of interest to the crowd, including a 1951 BSA Goldstar, 1952 Vincent Rapide, 1954 Victoria Bergmeister, 1969 Triumph Drag Bike, 1947 Indian Chief and the 1920 Indian Board Track Racer, all of which are on loan to the Canadian Motorcycle Heritiage Museum.
Charlie's Indian Day - Signed poster from Charlie We displayed a photo of Charlie in front of the 47 Indian Chief. He had given this poster to Bar last year and as he had signed it for us it seemed fitting. Many people who had never met Charlie were glad to see this tribute in our display and to see the man’s famous face.
We were pleased to have so many people stop by the display to look at the bikes. They were interested and intrigued by the varied mix of bikes in front of the SUPERSHOW banner. Kids asked us questions, memories were brought back for the older visitors, and we got to tell a lot of people about our efforts to preserve motorcycling history. Charlie's Indian Day - SUPERSHOW Staff 4 SUPERSHOW staff members rode to Campbellford for the event. Anne Golden (left) on her Kawasaki Ninja, Greg Cox (centre) on his Kawasaki ZX11, and Jim Watson (right) on his Kawasaki ZRX1200. Dan Lambert had just ridden out of the photo on his Harley.
The local paper was covering the event and interviewed a number of participants including Bar (left) who talked about the necessity of keeping Charlie’s name alive by continuing this wonderful event in his name for future generations. Charlie's Indian Day - Bar's interview with local newspaper

Campbellford is a beautiful setting for a gathering like this and another great destination ride for motorcyclists. SUPERSHOW was happy to be a part of it.
