Lang Hindle's Championship Superbike back on the racetrack!
The photos below show Lang Hindle preparing to Dyno test his former KZ 1000 SUPERBIKE. This is one of two bikes that Lang used to win the Canadian Superbike Championship in 1981. Built by Lang and tuned by Dave Myers, both bikes had full Works Kawasaki S-1 engines, featuring trick items like dual spark plug cylinder heads, close ratio transmissions and CDI magneto ignitions. Both bikes are now part of the Canadian Motorcycle Heritage Museum's collection. It was the bike shown here that SUPERSHOW staff member Peter Derry rode to victory at the Vintage Road Racing Association's Mosport Vintage Festival this past year, setting a new Vintage track record. (see photos below) Lang is planning to ride the bike himself at next years Vintage Festival in the Masters class. Careful tuning on the Hindle Exhaust Systems Dyno gained an extra 5hp over the as raced settings from this year, with more to come.

In case you don't recognize them, these two are Ken Livingstone, SUPERSHOW Race Manager (# 33) and Peter Derry, VP of Sales and Marketing (# 96). Peter eventually won this race, after he and Ken passed each other more than once. It was a pretty exciting race!

"This was my first Road Race in over 20 years, yet I very quickly got right back into it. I remember being very focused and the Hindle bike working flawlessly. I went on to win this race and my fastest lap of 136.57 beat the VRRA outright Lap record set in 1989 by Pro Superbike Racer Paul McMillan. It felt good to be back!" ~ Peter Derry
