Thursday, November 24, 2005 (Toronto)SUPERSHOW 2006, North America’s largest and most comprehensive motorcycle show, is so chock full of exclusive features that it promises something for every motorcycle enthusiast from superbikes to choppers. The SUPERSHOW is an event for riders by riders, which focuses on bringing the Fun of Motorcycling to the forefront each year. With a full line-up of stage events, activities, contests, awards and prize money, and special guests including U.S. TV Personality Michele Smith of American Thunder, the Show is packed with fun and entertainment for motorcyclists of all ages and interests. Set for January 6th – 8th at the Toronto International Centre, the 2006 edition of the International Motorcycle SUPERSHOW is a celebration of its 30th consecutive year as Canada’s Motorcycle Show.

The SUPERSHOW 2006 Custom Bike Awards Competition commemorates its 30th anniversary by increasing its Jackpot to $35,000, up $10,000 from 2005, with new prizes and incentives for out of province and out of country competitors. Mid-USA Motorcycle Parts Canada, main sponsor of the Awards Competition, is also title sponsor of the SUPERSHOW’s Main Street feature area for custom motorcycles. Encompassing all of Hall 4, Mid-USA’s Main Street is a major expansion of the custom chopper element currently taking the motorcycle market by storm. Dalton Timmis Insurance, insurers of custom and vintage motorcycles with their new 'Home for Chrome' policy, will be presenting the $4,000 in cash for the 'Specials' portion of the SUPERSHOW 2006 Mid-USA Awards competition to Show Bikes. Before the overall winners are announced in the custom bike competition, there are 20 'Special Awards' with cash and trophies in such categories as Best Detail, Best Engineered, Best Paint, Best Chrome and more.

HD HAULN', a fantastic 1990 Peterbilt Hot Rod Truck will be the backdrop for a pair of custom Harley-Davidson's, owned by Bobby Bates of Mississauga, entered into the SUPERSHOW 2006 showbike competition. The HD HAULN' Harley-Davidson themed, orange and black Quality Custom is an active ¼ Mile Big Rig Drag Racer with a 425 HP Cat Engine and 15 Speed Overdrive with suicide doors and six inch chopped cab. Bobby and bikes actively promote and support Child Find and the RCMP Racing Against Drugs charity programs. Look for Bobby's 'Big Rig' in Hall 4A near the stage. For a sneak peak, visit www.hdhauln.com. Also on display two Custom Sportsters "HOT FLAMES CRUZIN" owned by Caroline Grech and "TANGERINE DREAMS" owned by Lauri Giroux, both of Mississauga.

Also exclusive to the SUPERSHOW, the classy and rare – number 210 of a total of 300 built – MV Agusta 1000cc Tamburini will be displayed by owner Doug Teague of Warrenton, VA. This amazing and stylish guest bike can be seen in the Canadian Motorcycle Hall of Fame Museum display. Doug attends the SUPERSHOW each year stating that it is "the best Motorcycle Show in North America". Having recently acquired the new Tamburini, Doug is bringing it to the Show for Canadian enthusiasts to see this beautiful, technologically advanced piece of engineering.

And yet another feature exclusive to the SUPERSHOW, Motorcycle journalist and author, Max Burns will officially launch his latest book, "These are a few of my Favourite Roads". His motorcycling adventures, along with plenty of photos, maps and a sources section, fill 224 pages of what Burns has subtitled "The most expedient route to cross, and see, Canada slowly". Max is a special guest of the Canadian Motorcycle Hall of Fame Museum display in Hall 3. Show attendees can meet Max all three days of the SUPERSHOW and pick up a personally signed copy of his new book.

SUPERSHOW 2006, in conjunction with the Guelph Plastic Modellers Group, will hold a Motorcycle Scale Model Display and Contest, with judging in six classes. In addition to the contest for finished pieces there will also be demonstrations of building techniques to show the detail that goes into building these intricate works of art. A 1:16 replica of Rueben McMurter's 1983 Honda VFR750R Superbike will be on display along with Rueben's actual race bike, owned by the SUPERSHOW Collection and on display in the Canadian Motorcycle Hall of Fame Museum exhibit.
