Spring is always an exciting time of year for Canadian motorcyclists (although 'traffic' doesn't usually figure prominently in that excitement) but when it's our website traffic, I'm always thrilled to see it climb with the thermometer.
March 2005 SUPERSHOW Website Traffic
The SUPERSHOW Events website had 252,563 hits in March 2005. There were 9,677 unique visitors, and they viewed 32,036 pages. Each visitor Views an average of 2.6 pages per visit; about a third of them visited more than once in the month. Our monthly website traffic averages about 350,000 hits and 15,000 unique visitors each month. Our website has served over a million motorcyclists since it went online in 2000.
The majority of our website traffic is from Canada and the USA, with about 10% international traffic, from 74 countries in the month of March. Our international traffic always interests me, this month we had traffic from Nepal. I wonder what it's like motorcycling amongst the ancient temples in Katmandu?
Our website received 44% of our website traffic from 33 different Search Engines in March 2005, and about 43% of our traffic directly - web surfers to whom our URL is known and/or bookmarked, the remaining 13% from linked websites.
We seem to enjoy a nice mixture of 'return visitors' and people who have recently searched for our website.
I'm proud of the SUPERSHOW website; it truly is part of a web of interconnections within motorcycling and beyond. New exhibitors find our events through the 'Exhibitor Information' pages. Show-goers come to our site looking for our SUPERSHOW Exhibitors List, both before and after the show. People from around the world find vintage/collectable motorcycle photos and articles in the Magazine and Museum sections of our website. Motorcyclists plan their riding season with the help of our Calendar of Events, and find clubs to ride with in our Club section. And our Club Links pages give clubs and rides the opportunity to connect with motorcyclists. That interconnectedness is what the Internet is all about!
