2003 Events

The judges were pleasantly surprised at the high calibre of the entries, which made the judging process at once more interesting and much more difficult than anticipated.

But based on the judges' collective feelings regarding each entrant's reasons to ride with Max and each entrant's reasons he or she wanted to write about the ride, the entries were slowly sorted among a flurry a pastry flakes and the rising steam of hot drinks, a three-way tie for first broken with a post script mention of the entrant's stray barn cat named Max that "still has his balls."

So, the winning couple is (cue the drum role)... Vanessa Ransom and Harold Chard.

Congratulations to you both! Thanks to everyone who took the time to enter. I trust you all had fun crafting your words, for the judges certainly had a great deal of fun reading them. It's been a blast.
