SUPERSHOW 2006 - Review of Club booths at the 30th Anniversary SUPERSHOW

Sponsored Clubs set new record at SUPERSHOW 2006!

SUPERSHOW 2006

The 2006, 30th Anniversary edition of the SUPERSHOW was a huge success by all accounts, getting lots of media coverage and setting records once again. All of the 350,000 square feet of available floor space was completely filled this year, including over 50,00 square feet devoted to our Sponsored Clubs, Associations and Charities.

With a record 74 groups signed up, the variety of motorcycling interests represented was un-paralleled. Everything from Cruising Clubs, Touring Clubs, Racing Clubs, to all the various Charity Rides and Events, there was something of interest for every motorcyclist.

Known as ‘the Big One by the Airport’, the SUPERSHOW has become the social event of the winter for motorcyclists from as far away as Florida and both Canadian coasts.

This year our Clubs had a great time, putting together some outstanding displays with some real effort and imagination into them. Once again, the very enthusiastic, fun-loving Durham Cruisers took home the prestigious Best Club Display trophy and the cash award that goes along with it. Their very visually effective effort is one of the highlights of the Show each year.

Runners up in the Best Club Display competition included: The Canadian Sidecar Owners Association with their innovative ‘Sidecar Carousel’ theme, The Brampton Motorcycle Association’s 25th Birthday Celebration display, The ZEN Riders Motorcycle Club’s ‘As the Years Roll By’ SUPERSHOW 30th Anniversary tribute theme, The Great Pine Ridge Section of the CVMG’s ‘History-road’ theme, The Scarborough HOG Chapter’s ‘Sundown Saloon’ display, The Milton HOG Chapter, The Ducati Owners Club of Canada with their gathering of stunning Italian machinery, the newly formed, Chrome Divas-‘Harley Blues Café’ theme and the Vintage Road Racing Association’s wonderful display of various period racing machines.

Additionally, all our Charity groups reported excellent interest and inquiries on their events at the Show, pointing toward a busy season of fund-raising, fun events for thousands of riders.

We commend all our participating groups this year on a great effort. They are all a welcome part of the best motorcycle Show in North America. The next opportunity to check out what’s happening is at the upcoming Spring Motorcycle Show, April 8 & 9, once again at the Toronto International Centre.

All our sponsored Clubs were informed of the big new expansion plans for SUPERSHOW 2007 January 5, 6, 7, 2007 at the International Centre. Here are some of the major points: our commercial exhibitors require substantially more floor space, some of our Clubs have asked for more booth space for larger, more elaborate displays and the public aisles are more crowded than we would like. To deal with these issues, we’ve booked the International Centre’s prestigious Hall 5, bringing the total square footage up to an astounding 425,000. This expansion will allow us to fulfill these needs plus generally ‘air-out’ the Show. For full details, please check out the website at: www.supershowevents.com/super/expansion2007.html.
